For the Captives and the Curious

A Poem by Todd Rutkowski

April 17, 2025

If I had to distill my calling—

Not in job titles or roles,

But in the language of poetry, mystery

and

soul—

It would be this:

Barrier breaker.

If my life has a shape

It’s not a cage or a tower—

It’s an open hand

Unbinding what power has bound.

A relentless hope for those who feel stuck, silenced

or searching for a way beyond luck.

This is my calling—

To reflect heaven’s light,

To lead with courage

With flame

and prophetic sight

And to keep swinging wide the

doors

for the captives

and the curious alike
